Let me start by saying, I’ve never modeled anything – ever. (And no, I definitely don’t count my Echo Look photos as modeling!) So when Amy at Sassafras asked me to model some of the new spring clothing last month, I was super flattered, excited, and nervous.
It turned out that I had no reason to be nervous. Tina Witherspoon is an incredibly talented photographer who made the whole experience feel easy and natural!
Dresses!
Check out this amazing dress by Frankie Four. It’s so comfy and so dance-able!
And these two beauties by CiCi. They’re perfect dresses for almost any activity and so, so flattering. Spoiler: the blue dress came home with me!
I adore this Amy Tipton original! It’s so polished and tailored that I can imagine it at any summer wedding or special event.
Other Stuff!
Don’t forget the accessories!
- Beret – La Macón by Shari Noble
- Tshirt by bartle b.
- Silver earrings by Parallel Jewelry
- Necklace and earring set by Melted Porcelain
The Best Part?
I don’t even know where to start! The whole experience was fantastic, so I don’t think I can pick just ONE best part.
As I mentioned before, Tina was incredible. If you’d like to see more of Tina’s work, check out her website, or follow her on Facebook and Instagram. Her photos are amazing!
I love any reason to hang out with Amy! Perhaps you remember what a badass she is from a previous post? Sassafras: Amy Tipton Takes Local to a New Level.
Additionally, I got to meet several other Belltown, local-loving fashion enthusiasts who were modeling for Sassafras the same day. I do adore meeting rad women.
And can we talk about the confidence boost? I’m not built like a model and I’m always battling those few extra pounds (oh look, there’s a cookie), so while I’ve always been curious about modeling, I just assumed it was something that would never apply to me. Yet there are now several photos that say otherwise. Thanks to Amy’s vision and Tina’s talent, I now feel so much more confident and photogenic!
If you’re curious about other photos from these photo shoots, they are showing up on the Sassafras website, as well as Facebook and Instagram. You’ll find every body type modeling the most beautiful clothing.
I think there’s something truly magical and authentic about real women modeling clothing that was hand made by real women, don’t you?
Great write up! We love Sassafras and what it stands for, not to mention, Amy is amazing! All of the women at Sassafras have been super nice and supportive of our movement.
You are welcome to model our curated threads anytime!
